Pinoy Pili Tart

Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 6 package (226g) cream cheese
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup sweetened pili nuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
Instructions
CRUST RECIPE
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Using electric mixer, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  3. Add flour and mix just until dough begins to clump together.
  4. Roll the dough into a round log shape, and cut into equal small pieces.
  5. Gather dough into balls and place in every cup of a mini tart or cupcake pan.
  6. Using fingers, press dough onto bottom and up sides of pan.
FILLINGS RECIPE
  1. Break the eggs into medium bowl and beat with a fork for a few seconds.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, salt and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Pour filling into unbaked crust, and put pili nuts on top of the mixture.
  4. Bake tart for about 20 minutes or until filling is slightly puffed and set.
Notes
  • Pili can be put first into the unbaked crust before the fillings or stir in with the sugar mixture.
  • Sweetened pili are sold in an individually sealed pouch, or you can use fresh pili nut.
  • You can make 40 pieces of tart crust or pili nuts on a mini muffin pan.
