Pinoy Pili Tart
Ingredients- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter
- 6 package (226g) cream cheese
- 2 whole eggs
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/4 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup sweetened pili nuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
CRUST RECIPE
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Using electric mixer, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Add flour and mix just until dough begins to clump together.
- Roll the dough into a round log shape, and cut into equal small pieces.
- Gather dough into balls and place in every cup of a mini tart or cupcake pan.
- Using fingers, press dough onto bottom and up sides of pan.
- Break the eggs into medium bowl and beat with a fork for a few seconds.
- Add sugar, melted butter, salt and vanilla. Mix well.
- Pour filling into unbaked crust, and put pili nuts on top of the mixture.
- Bake tart for about 20 minutes or until filling is slightly puffed and set.
- Pili can be put first into the unbaked crust before the fillings or stir in with the sugar mixture.
- Sweetened pili are sold in an individually sealed pouch, or you can use fresh pili nut.
- You can make 40 pieces of tart crust or pili nuts on a mini muffin pan.
