Barquillos De Polvoron
- 1 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cups powdered milk
- 1/2 cup refined sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- ¼ cup ground Oreo
- Banana leaves
- Cooking Oil
POLVORON
- Toast all purpose flour on a pan over moderate heat.
- Stirring constantly for about 15 minutes or until light brown.
- Transfer the flour onto a dry mixing bowl and let it cool.
- Add powdered milk, sugar, Oreo powder and cream, whisk until well combined.
- Melt butter in a skillet or wok, turn off the heat and mix the flour mixture.
- Lay a piece of around 12' x 6" banana leaves on a flat workplace.
- Fold the edge and roll them towards the end to make a log.
- Roll with the palm of hands to tighten,Tie a twine in the middle to secure.
- Cut an inch longer from the size of the wrapper.
- Place rolled banana leaves at the edge of the wrapper.
- Roll around until the edges overlap, leaving a space to seal the wrapper.
- Heat oil in a pan but not smoking, turn the heat in medium high and put the wrapper.
- Deep fry in medium heat until golden brown, then drain excess oil on paper towels.
- Fill the hollow of the wrapper with the polvoron mixture.
- Compact using funnel and stick, making firm up through the other end.
- Heat oil until but not smoking, then lower to medium high before frying the wrapper.
- Wrapper can be fried with sugar caramel to coat the outside
